Harmonograph by Drew Mason:
This harmonograph is driven by motors that can be interactively controlled while the harmonograph is in motion, allowing graphs of different harmonic ratios to be superimposed.
The project began in 2008 as a project for a class I took at CCA called Emphasis Fabrication.
A harmonograph is an apparatus that plots the harmonic relationship between two periodic forces. Traditionally, they used pendulums as the source of movement.
Inside the control box is an arduino that reads the controller values and sends step and direction signals to the motor controllers.
Here are some scribbles that were made with the harmonograph.
